Pastoral Life

Religion and Life intersect most commonly in the individual through rites of passage. These intersections may occur at significant moments of joy, sadness and transition in the lifecycle. They include such occasions as birth, puberty, adolescence, adulthood, marriage, aging, illness, death and mourning. Whether it be ceremonies of baby namings, Bar/Bat mitzvah, adult Bar/Bat mitzvah, weddings, funerals, memorials, hospital visitations, the clergy are responsive to and involved with these needs of the members. Further details and arrangements should be made by calling the synagogue office at 212-606-4066. The existential situation of anxiety, loneliness, grief, family conflict and a whole host of other issues and crises on the human journey that require pastoral counseling and care are met by the clergy through meeting and referral.
